Teaching Kids The Rules Of Soccer
Teaching kids the rules of soccer is not that easy. The most important rule that everyone follows and knows is that you are not allowed to use your hands to touch the ball intentionally unless you are the goalie. Most youth programs do not even have goalies, so this even makes it easier to remember. Another of the most important rules is how the ball gets played when it goes out of bounds. Basically, the team that does not last touch the ball gets to take it out of bounds. If the ball when out of bounds on the sidelines then the team has a throw-in. If the ball went out of bounds on the end line, then a corner kick will occur. This is a hard rule for some adults to remember so stress the importance of following this rule. It is also important to remember how to start the game. At the beginning of the game, or when a goal has been scored, the team that starts from the center line has to kick the ball to a teammate before the other team can kick it. The kick must be right across the line or behind the center line.
